JAKOB K. - Your Great Imagination

Jakob K. (Jakob Künzel) ist Sänger, Multi-Instrumentalist, Songwriter, Arrangeur und Produzent. Seine Karriere begann er 1979 mit den damals sehr erfolgreichen Bands HAMMERFEST (Vlotho DE) und LAZY POKER BLUES BAND (Basel CH). Stärken seiner melancholischen Popsongs sind Bläserarrangements, mehrstimmige Chorpassagen und manchmal auch klassische Elemente. Wie ein roter Faden ziehen sich Neugier und die Lust am Experimentieren durch seine Musik. Das Ergebnis sind faszinierende Klangwelten und eine grosse Vielfalt - aber nie Beliebigkeit. Man spürt die grenzenlose Freude an der Musik. Die heisere und unprätentiös berührende Stimme von Jakob K. verleiht den Songs Persönlichkeit und eine zusätzliche Tiefe.

Die Idee war, ein Album zu produzieren, das mich selber als Jugendlichen anfangs der 70er-Jahre berührt und begeistert hätte. Vielfältige Alben habe ich immer besonders geliebt, deshalb war es naheliegend, meine Popsongs in verschiedenen Stilrichtungen wie Rock, Reggae, Funk, Blues, Country und Folk anzusiedeln." Acht der zehn Songs sind Eigenkompositionen. Die beiden Coverversionen sind eigenständige und persönliche Interpretationen; einerseits eine Verbeugung vor dem Original, anderseits typisch Jakob K..
"Wuthering Heights" von Kate Bush kommt als Country-Popsong daher - sehr catchy das Guitarlick von Stefan Strittmatter im Refrain und das Trompetensolo von Bodo Maier.

"Dancing with the moonlit Knight" von Genesis: "Ich hatte mir zur Aufgabe gestellt, aus dem fast neunminütigen Kunstrocksong mit seinen zahlreichen Tempowechseln einen gut dreiminütigen Popsong ohne jede Temposchwankungen zu arrangieren und eine gute Lösung für den Gesang zu finden, da ich nicht den Stimmumfang von Peter Gabriel habe. Ich bin vom Resultat selber total begeistert auch wenn ich gerne zugebe, dass einiges vom Original verloren gegangen ist."

Co-Produzentin des Albums ist Nadia Leonti, die selber auch zwei hervorragende Indie-Pop-Alben veröffentlicht hat. Sie ist eine langjährige Weggefährtin von Jakob K. - zusammen haben sie in den Bands "popmonster" und "bartrek" gespielt und die Alben von "popmonster" produziert.
Das Resultat ist ein melancholisches, manchmal humorvolles, zeitlos altmodischisches Album - nach einer 40jährigen Musikerkarriere das erste Soloalbum von Jakob K. überhaupt.

Jakob K. (Jakob Künzel) is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger and producer from Switzerland. He started his career in 1979 with the then very successful bands HAMMERFEST (Vlotho DE) and LAZY POKER BLUES BAND (Basel CH). Strengths of his melancholic pop songs are brass arrangements, polyphonic choir passages and sometimes also classical elements. Curiosity and the joy of experimenting with his music are a common thread. The result is fascinating soundscapes and a great diversity - but never arbitrariness. You can feel the boundless joy of music. The hoarse and unpretentious touching voice of Jakob K. adds personality and depth to the songs."The idea was to produce an album that would have touched and thrilled me as a teenager in the early '70s, and I've always loved a lot of different music, so my pop songs come in different styles like rock, reggae, funk, Blues, Country and Folk. " Eight of the ten songs are original compositions. The two cover versions are independent and personal interpretations; on the one hand a bow to the original, on the other hand typical Jakob K.

The result is a melancholy, sometimes humorous, timelessly old-fashioned album - after a 40-year musical career, the first solo album by Jakob K. ever.

HEIDI KABEL u.a. - Klein Erna auf dem Jungfernstieg - Soundtrack

Ende der Sechziger- Anfang der Siebzigerjahre waren musikalische Lustspiele der Knüller an den Kinokassen. Es wurde gesungen, gekalauert, die prominentesten Schauspieler waren sich nicht zu schade selbst in schlüpfrigen Sex-Klamotten mitzuwirken, denn diese Filme hatten einen Zulauf, davon träumt man heute nur.

"Klein Erna auf dem Jungfernstieg“ spielte zwar in Hamburg, hatte aber mit der einige Kilometer entfernten Reeperbahn so gar nichts zu tun. Klein Erna ist eine typisch lokale Witzfigur für Hamburg, wie Tünnes und Schäl es für Kölle sind. Und der Volksmund hat der armen Deern eine Menge Kalauer in den Mund gelegt, die einen Großteil des Films ausmachten. Dazwischen wurde musiziert und gesungen, wobei der Beitrag von Hamburgs berühmter Heidi Kabel wohl der bemerkenswerteste war. Und Hamburg sieht in den Filmbildern richtig gemütlich aus!

Der 1969 gedreht Film versammelte eine Menge Prominenz. Es folgt eine Aufstellung von Rollen und ihren Darstellern, die da waren:

Bei so einem massiven Staraufgebot war der Erfolg des Films sichergestellt. Gerade auch Kinder erfreuten sich an den Streichen von Klein Erna und Klein Heini. Sireena Records veröffentlicht in seiner Reihe NORDDEUTSCHE KLASSIKER erstmals den Soundtrack zum Film auf CD. Mit vielen Fotos und ausführlichen Liner Notes.

[SIR2064] CD SHOP	KALTWETTERFRONT - Inkubationszeit Gegründet wurde Kaltwetterfront 1978 in Hannover. Im ersten Labelkatalog (April 1980) von NO FUN steht zu lesen: „Zwar im Umfeld der Neuen Welle entstanden, verstand sich KWF jedoch nie als reine New Wave oder Punk-Band." Damit passte die Band ja vortrefflich in den spannenden und abwechselungsreichen Katalog von NO FUN Records. Auf der ersten LP spielte die Band Kaltwetterfront in der Besetzung ASCHE (Bass, Gesang) MICHA aka MICHEL VON EYE (Schlagzeug, Gesang), ANNA (Gesang, Orgel) und BERNIE (Gitarre, Gesang). Es ist übrigens ein Gerücht, dass KONRAD KITTNER (später Abstürzende Brieftauben), der Sohn des Politikkabarettisten DIETRICH KITTNER mit dabei gewesen sein soll „Inkubationszeit" fiel natürlich wegen des an die Kommune 1 gemahnenden Titelfotos sofort auf, aber die Musik hatte es richtig in sich. Kraftrock, der an Ton Steine Scherben erinnerte mit einem ordentlichen Schuss Punk waren das musikalische Rezept. Ganz groß die Stimme von Anna (Helga Othenin-Girard), die Anette Humpe in nichts nachstand. Politisch korrekte Texte gehörten natürlich dazu. Nach diesem Album stieg der Hauptschreiber Bernie Kaufhold aus der Band aus, und der bisherige Trommler Micha von Eye wechselte ans Mikrophon. Neuer Trommler wurde THOMAS „TIER" WOLFF von den Cretins und Blut + Eisen. 1982 kam das zweite Album „Wenn kaputt, dann wir Spaß" bei Frostschutz Records raus. Dann war die Luft raus. Michael van Eye erlangte später dann noch Berühmtheit mit den Fun Punkern Leere Versprechungen (Hit: „Heute machen wir ne Party").

[SIR4069] LP SHOP	KICKBIT INFORMATION - Bitkicks - The Graue Recordings * Limited * Die einzigen erhaltenen Aufnahmen der „Supergroup“ um CARSTEN BOHN (ex-Frumpy) und ULI TREPTE (ex-Gru Guru) von 1975 auf Vinyl! Limitierte Auflage! KICKBIT INFORMATION entstand im Frühling 1974, als ULI TREPTE (Bass) auf den Hamburger Drummer CARSTEN BOHN stieß. Beide waren schon damals bekannte und hochangesehene Musker. Trepte hatte bei der Irene Schweizer Group Mani Neumeier getroffen und mit ihm zusammen Guru Guru gegründet. Als Trio zusammen mit Gitarrist Ax Genrich zählten sie zum aufregendsten Teil des vor allem im Ausland hochgelobten Phänomen „Krautrock“. Carsten Bohn wiederum war Mitbegründer von Frumpy, einer bis heute legendären Band, in der Inga Rumpf hinter dem Mikro stand. Nach der Auflösung der Band gründete Bohn das kurzlebige Projekt Dennis, bei dem auch Saxophonist WILLI PAPE mit von der Partie war. Pape wiederum hatte bei Thirsty Moon mitgewirkt, einer ebenfalls sehr bekannten Band Anfang der Siebzigerjahre. Bohn und Pape lebten zu der Zeit in einem alten Schulhaus im niedersächsischen Graue, wo es Platz in Hülle und Fülle gab. Uli Trepte zog im Sommer 1974 ebenfalls im Schulhaus ein und brachte aus Berlin den Geiger OTTO RICHTER mit. Carsten Bohn wiederum lockte etwas später den in Hamburg lebenden Keyboarder FRITZ HEGI nach Graue, KICKBIT INFORMATION war geboren! Allen gemeinsam war – neben einer Vorliebe für Psychedelika und dem Wunsch Leben und Arbeit nicht zu trennen – der feste Wille, keinen anglo-sächsisch angehauchten Rock zu machen. Die Musik sollte zutiefst eigenständig sein. Lange ausufernde Jams bildeten den Grundsound von Kickbit Information. Bass und Schlagzeug dominierten, ließen aber den übrigen Bandmitgliedern genügend Platz für Improvisationen. Die vorliegenden Tonaufnahmen stammen vom Mitschnitt einer Probe in Graue und wurden nur mit einem Mikro und einem einfachen Tonbandgerät aufgenommen. Sie zeigen eindrucksvoll die Klasse und die Spielfreude der Musiker. Ein tolles Zeitdokument, denn ein Jahr später war Kickbit Information bereits Geschichte. Zu wenig Gigs, kein Management – die üblichen Gründe für ein frühes Bandende. Carsten Bohn gründete danach Bandstand, Uli Trepte rief Spacebox ins Leben, auch die übrigen Musiker fanden neue Beschäftigungen. Geblieben sind diese Aufnahmen, die, wenn auch in rauher Tonqualität aufzeigen, wie lebendig und abwechslungsreich Rockmusik in der damaligen Aufbruchszeit gestaltet wurde! The only surviving recordings of the “Supergroup” feat. CARSTEN BOHN (ex-Frumpy) and ULI TREPTE (ex-Gru Guru) from 1975 on vinyl! Limited edition! KICKBIT INFORMATION was created in the spring of 1974 when ULI TREPTE (bass) met the Hamburg drummer CARSTEN BOHN. Both of them were well-known and highly respected musicians even then. Trepte had met Mani Neumeier at the Irene Schweizer Group and together with him founded Guru Guru. As a trio together with guitarist Ax Genrich, they were among the most exciting part of the “Krautrock” phenomenon, which is highly praised, especially abroad. Carsten Bohn, on the other hand, was a co-founder of Frumpy, a band that is still legendary today, in which Inga Rumpf was behind the microphone. After the band broke up, Bohn founded the short-lived Dennis project, which also included saxophonist WILLI PAPE. Pape, on the other hand, had played with Thirsty Moon, another well-known band in the early 1970s. At that time, Bohn and Pape lived in an old schoolhouse in Graue, Lower Saxony, where there was plenty of space. Uli Trepte also moved into the school building in the summer of 1974 and brought the violinist OTTO RICHTER with him from Berlin. Carsten Bohn in turn lured the Hamburg-based keyboardist FRITZ HEGI to Graue a little later, KICKBIT INFORMATION was born! What they all had in common - in addition to a preference for psychedelics and the desire not to separate life and work - was the firm will not to make rock with an Anglo-Saxon touch. The music should be deeply self-contained. Long sprawling jams formed the basic sound of Kickbit Information. Bass and drums dominated, but left enough space for the rest of the band to improvise. The recordings on this record were only recorded with a microphone and a simple tape recorder. They impressively show the class and enthusiasm of the musicians. A great document of the times, because a year later Kickbit Information was already history. Too few gigs, no management - the usual reasons for ending a band early. Carsten Bohn then founded Bandstand, Uli Trepte brought Spacebox to life, and the other musicians also found new jobs. What have remained are these recordings, which, albeit with a rough sound quality, show how lively and varied rock music was made in the time of the new beginnings!

[CD: SIR2261 / LP: SIR4083] CD: SHOP LP: SHOP	KOWA+KLEIN "Summertime" Liest man die musikalischen Biografien der beiden Musiker, gewinnt man den Eindruck, die Wege von Win und Marlon hätten sich nicht unbedingt kreuzen müssen. Aber der Zufall schafft manchmal glückliche Konstellationen. Win Kowa, Komponist, Gitarrist und Keyboarder stammt aus Düsseldorf und war Gründungsmitglied von Straight Shooter, bevor er zu Streetmark wechselte. Bei Streetmark komponierte er einige der später erfolgreichsten Streetmark-Songs wie „Lovers'“ und „Sunny Queen“, die vom Produzenten Conny Plank verfeinert wurden. 1977 spielte er den ersten Roland Gitarrensynthesizer GR-500 und war einer der ersten Musiker in Europa, die den Gitarrensynthesizer live auf der Bühne einsetzten. 1978 wechselte Win zu der Band Octopus und lernte seine Frau Jennifer kennen. Jennifer Kowa war Octopus-Gründungsmitglied, und veröffentlichte 3 Alben als Octopus-Frontsängerin. Viele Journalisten zählten sie anhand der Live-Performance und ihrer soulig-rockigen Stimme schnell zur besten Prog-Rock-Sängerin Deutschlands. 1981 gründeten Win und Jennifer das Power-Rock-Trio The Radio. Win wurde Endorser des neuen Roland Gitarrensynthesizer GR-700. Seine von ihm programmierten GR-700 Soundbänke wurden unter anderem auch von Dave Stewart/Eurythmics genutzt. Im Laufe der Jahre wurden Win und Jennifer Endorser weiterer bekannter Firmen wie Sennheiser, Hiwatt, Vantage, Paiste und Roland. Zwischen 1992 und 2000 produzierte Win sechs Alben für IC-Digit. Er wirkte mit an zahlreichen Kompilationen wie „Café del Mar“, „Café del Sol“ und Special Editions neben Künstlern wie Dido, Vangelis, Kitaro und Mike Oldfield. Der weltweite Erfolg dieser Musikproduktion, insbesondere in den USA, öffnete ihm die Türen zu Werbeagenturen und Filmproduktionen. Ab 1992 komponierten die Kowas Musik für Filme und über 100 TVWerbespots für europäische und weltweite Kampagnen. Für diese Arbeit erhielten sie Auszeichnungen wie mehrere Gold Comprix in London, den Golden Award von Montreux und waren Finalisten für den Golden Globe in New York. 2018 produzierte Win Jennifers erstes Solo-Album „Slow Down“. Marlon Klein stammt aus dem ostwestfälischen Herford, einer Wiege der deutschen Woodstock-Festival-Generation. Nach seinem erfolgreichen Vorspiel 1974 an der Musikakademie Detmold und Einladungen von Harmonia + Neu, an der Weser zu trommeln, oder von Lokomotive Kreuzberg (Spliff) in Berlin, gründete er zu Hochzeiten des Krautrocks in den späten 70ern die legendäre Real Ax Band. Nach deren Auflösung leistete er mit den Dissidenten von Deutschland aus Pionierarbeit in punkto Weltmusik quer über den Globus. Der „Rolling Stone“ erklärte das Trio zu den „Godfathers of Worldbeat”, Alben wie „Germanistan”, „Life At The Pyramids” und „Sahara Elektrik” sind unwidersprochen Genre-Klassiker. Hits wie „Fata Morgana” oder „Telephone Arab” sind bis heute fester Bestandteil millionenfacher Playlists von Rom bis São Paulo. Auf der langen Liste an Musikern, mit denen er als Sideman oder Produzent im Studio wirkte, stehen zum Beispiel Stephan Eicher, Trilok Gurtu, Pili-Pili, Angélique Kidjo oder Gary Wright, der ExBeatle George Harrison zu den Studiosessions einlud. In den letzten Jahren hat Marlon mit zunehmendem Erfolg im Mastering und Remasterering unter anderem für Bear Family Records und Sireena, auf mehr als 1000 Alben seinen musikalischen Fingerabdruck hinterlassen. „In erster Linie möchte ich selbst mit meiner Musik zufrieden sein, wenn sie auch anderen gefällt, umso besser.“ (Marlon Klein) 2023 lernten sich, wie der glückliche Zufall es wollte, Jennifer und Win Kowa beim Mastering im Exil Studio Marlon Klein kennen. Sie waren musikalisch und geschmacklich sofort auf der gleichen Spur und beschlossen zusammen das 2. Solo-Album „Stay Strong“ von Jennifer Kowa zu produzieren. Anfang 2024 veröffentlichte Sireena Records das Album „Stay Strong“ als CD und Vinyl. Am 25.07.2024 starb Jennifer Kowa. Win und Marlon setzten ihre musikalische Zusammenarbeit trotz des Schicksalsschlags fort, und gründeten 2025 die Projektband KOWA + KLEIN. Die Aufgabe war klar: die sich noch im Anfangsstadium befindlichen musikalischen Ideen weiterzuentwickeln bis hin zur Fertigstellung, ihren eigenen Sound zu kreieren, und alles, was ihnen als Ergebnis gefiel, auch zu veröffentlichen. Als erstes Resultat entstand das Album SUMMERTIME. Mit unveröffentlichten Vocal Tracks von Jennifer, neuen Kompositionen, Arrangements, Einspielungen und zusätzlichen Vocals einwickelte sich ein modernes Indi-Rock-Album mit einer Hommage an die 80er/90er-JahreMusik, vereint mit den Erfahrungen und der Spielfreude der beteiligten Musiker. Virtuose Parts sowie lange Gitarrensolos gehören wieder zum guten Geschmack. Als „Erste-Wahl-Bassist“ und langjähriger Freund wurde Frank Itt (Jennifer Rush / Sananda Maitreya, aka T.T. D'Arby) / Pili-Pili / Errorhead) zur musikalischen Verstärkung engagiert, und wird als fester Bestandteil des Projekts mitgenommen auf die Reise. Das erste Werk dieses Trips heißt SUMMERTIME und wird am 26.09.2025 als CD/Vinyl und Digital erscheinen. Reading an account of the lives of musicians Marlon Klein (Real Ax Band, Pili Pili, Dissidenten) and Win Kowa (Streetmark, Octopus, The Radio), one might get the impression their paths were never destined to cross. But destiny has a habit of provoking happy accidents, and auspicious evidence of such twists of fate can be heard on their collaborative debut. Not that "Summertime" is an album that arrived without sorrow as well. The veterans’ decision to unite followed the loss in July 2024 of Win’s wife, Jennifer Kowa, a founding member of Octopus, after the release of her 2nd solo album, "Stay Strong". Both men had worked side by side on the record, and by the start of 2025, they’d formed KOWA + KLEIN, with Frank I (Jennifer Rush, Terence Trent D'Arby, Pili-Pili) soon signing up as the band’s bassist. Their 10 track album features previously unreleased vocal contributions from Jennifer, and is due for release by Rouge Records/Sireena on September 26th, 2025, on CD, LP and via all digital music services. “There’s a joy to making music”, Marlon says, introducing the album, “and if I can share that joy, then so much the better.” Certainly, it’s a quality evident throughout "Summertime", which opens with the luxurious, dreamy "Imagination", then immediately confirms its bold, confident mettle with the urgent "Time Will Tell", on which Win’s stellar guitarwork provides a typically dramatic climax, and the frantic "Dance". That’s not to mention "New York", on which Frank’s intricate bassline furnishes a distinctive foundation for a taut, slick, funk workout, and "What The World Needs", its effortless, albeit more understated groove, accompanying Jennifer’s calls for global compassion. Her timeless delivery is rewarded, too, in the noble settings of the stripped back "Beautiful Tears" and elegantly slowburning "On The Road", while the title track also provides a moving reinterpretation of the evergreen Gershwin classic. But when the album concludes with "About Us", consolidating all 4 musicians’ talents while mysteriously summoning the ghosts of Roy Orbison and Patsy Cline, it’s a suitably heartfelt epitaph. “Virtuoso instrumental parts and lengthy guitar solos”, smiles Marlon, “are once again signs of good taste”. Kowa and Klein are now into their 5th decade as musicians, the former having previously stated that he first began writing songs back when he was only 9. Indeed, the composer, guitarist and keyboard player, a native of Düsseldorf, was a founding member of hard rockers Straight Shooter before joining the more progressive Streetmark, for whom he composed some of the band’s most successful songs. These later additions to their catalogue include "Lovers" and "Sunny Queen", refined by producer Conny Plank for 1979’s "Dry", and he also became one of the earliest musicians in Europe to use a guitar synthesiser on stage, having played a Roland GR-500, one of the first models, in 1977. In 1978, Win joined Octopus and met his soon to be wife Jennifer, a founding member of the prog rock band with whom she released 3 albums as lead singer. Her live performances and soulful, rocking voice inspired many critics to rate her as the genre’s best German female singer, and in 1981 the couple founded power rock trio The Radio. Win soon became an official endorser of Roland’s new GR-700 guitar synthesiser, with the sound banks he’d programmed also employed by, among others, Dave Stewart from Eurythmics. Over the years, too, he and Jennifer worked with other well known companies, among them Sennheiser, Hiwa , Vantage, Paiste, and again Roland. During this time, Marlon kept himself busy exploring a myriad of his own musical opportunities. Having grown up in Herford, East Westphalia, the Woodstock generation’s German heartland, he’d successfully auditioned for the Detmold Music Academy in 1974, then went on to receive invitations from Harmonia and Neu! to drum by the River Weser, as well as another summons for Berlin. This arrived from West Berlin’s cult political rockers Lokomotive Kreuzberg, later The Nina Hagen Band. Marlon then founded the Real Ax Band, legendary proponents of German fusion, but after releasing 1977’s "Nicht Stehenbleiben / Move Your Ass In Time", the band split. Marlon didn’t hang around before starting his next project. Formed alongside Uve Müllrich (Embryo, Lokomotive Kreuzberg) and Friedo Josch (Missus Beastly, Embryo), Dissidenten were pioneers of world music, once described by Rolling Stone as the 'Godfathers Of Worldbeat' and known for their work with Middle Eastern, African and Indian musicians. To this day, the trio’s albums, like 1982’s "Germanistan", 1984’s "Sahara Elektrik" and "1986’s "Life At The Pyramids", remain undisputed classics of the genre, and hits like "Fata Morgana" and "Telephone Arab" are still an integral part of millions of playlists, from Rome to São Paulo and beyond. Yet still Marlon and Win failed to cross paths. Between 1992 and 2000, while Marlon was busy with Exil Musik, the label, publishing company and studio he’d set up with Dissidenten, Win produced 6 albums for IC-DigIt and was featured on numerous compilations like "Café del Mar" and "Café del Sol", not to mention compilations alongside artists such as Dido, Vangelis, Kitaro and Mike Oldfield. Their worldwide success, especially in the USA, opened doors to advertising agencies and film productions, and from 1992 the Kowas composed music for films and over a hundred TV commercials. Used in European and worldwide campaigns, these earned multiple prizes, including several Gold Comprix in London and the Golden Award of Montreux, while they were also finalists for the Golden Globe in New York. While all this was going on, the long list of musicians with whom Marlon had worked, as sideman or producer, kept on growing and growing. Among them so far are Stephan Eicher, Trilok Gurtu, Pili-Pili, Angélique Kidjo and Gary Wright, who even invited George Harrison to their sessions. In recent years, as well, he’s left his musical fingerprint on more than a 1 000 albums, thanks to his growing success mastering and remastering for clients like Bear Family Records and Sireena Records. Still, it wasn’t until 2023 that Win and Marlon 1st met. Win had produced Jennifer's solo debut album, 2019’s "Slow Down", and it was only when the couple were mastering new material at Marlon’s Exil Studio that fate finally brought the men together. Immediately recognising their shared musical references, Win and Marlon swiftly decided to combine forces as producers on Jennifer's next solo album, "Stay Strong", released by Sireena in early 2024. Tragically, Jennifer passed away just a few months later, on July 25th, but, despite the shock, Win and Marlon continued to collaborate. Thus, in 2025, they founded KOWA + KLEIN, and "Summertime" represents the 1st fruits of their endeavours. Featuring unreleased vocal tracks previously recorded by Jennifer, it combines the experience and enthusiasm of all involved, offering a modern take on indie rock that also pays homage to the music of the 20th century’s last decades. As Marlon concludes, “First and foremost, I want to be happy with my music. If others like it as well, though, that’s even better”. This, like their meeting, is surely just a matter of time too.

After The RADIO dissolved in 1988, Jennifer and Win Kowa recorded various titles in their new, own recording studio. The album “Stay Strong” is the result of an extraordinary project. The entire album, recorded analogue on 16-track in 1988, only existed on DAT demo tapes, from which no master could be created. At the beginning of 2023, Jennifer and Win met Marlon Klein, a founding member of the DISSIDENTEN and a globally recognized drummer and music producer, in the Exil Music Studio in Berlin. Marlon is enthusiastic about the music and Jennifer's voice. His idea of using music AI software to separate vocals and instruments from the existing DAT recordings, re-record them in places and completely remix them immediately convinced Jennifer and Win. Rhythm tracks with new drums from Marlon and new overdubs from Win are recorded and remixed with Jennifer's magnificent vocal tracks from 1988.

Die mit Platin ausgezeichnete Schweizer Hardrock-/Metal-Band Krokus eroberte in den 80er-Jahren erfolgreich den US-Markt und bahnte sich dort und auf Kontinentaleuropa einen Weg in die Live-Branche, der bis heute auf die eine oder andere Weise anhält. 1999 war die Band für ihr 13. Album mit dem passenden Titel „Round 13“ zurück im Studio. Sireena Records veröffentlicht nun erstmals dieses Album auf Vinyl! Der walisische Sänger Carl Sentance (ex-Persian Risk, Geezer Butler Band) gesellte sich in Runde 13 zu Mitbegründer Fernando von Arb (Gitarren, Keyboards), Chris Lauper (Gitarre), Ex-Killer's Many Maurer (Bass) und Ex-Calhoun Conquer Schlagzeuger Peter Haas kehrte zurück. Fernando von Arb erinnert sich: „Ich wollte die alten Krokus wiederbeleben, aber die Bandmitglieder hatten alle Babys bekommen und wollten zu Hause bleiben! Also haben wir ein paar Jahre damit aufgehört, und dann bin ich nach Großbritannien gegangen und habe Carl gefunden: so einen Profi, es war eine Freude, mit ihm zusammenzuarbeiten. In 1999, the band was back in the studio for 13th album, the appropriately-titled ‘Round 13’. [SIR4021] 2-LP *Ausverkauft / Sold out *	KROKUS - Stampede Von der erfolgreichsten Schweizer Rockband alle Zeiten erstmals als Doppelalbum im farbigen Vinyl: "Stampede" von 1990. Nachdem mit Marc Storace, Chris von Rohr und Mark Kohler drei langjährige Mitglieder die Schweizer Metallschmiede KROKUS verlassen hatten, lag es 1990 an Fernando von Arb zusammen mit Sänger Peter Tanner, den beiden Gitarristen Many Maurer und Tony Castell sowie Trommler Peter "Rabbitt" Haas eine neue KROKUS-Mannschaft zusammenzustellen. Dafür wechselte der jahrelange Gitarrist von Arb gar an den Viersaiter, schrieb den Großteil der Songs und produzierte das Album "Stampede" im heimischen Pink-Tonstudio in Solothurn. Und die Band landete einen wahren Treffer! Nach den eher enttäuscht aufgenommenen Vorläuferalben bedeutete "Stampede" eine Rückkehr von KROKUS in die Zeiten ihres Riesenhits "Headhunter". Besonders der Titeltrack aber auch Hymnen wie "Rock ’n’ Roll Gypsy" oder "Shotgun Boogie" gerieten zu für die Band typischen Hardrock-Titel, die von Fans wie Kritikern gleichermaßen begeistert aufgenommen wurden. Leider blieb auch diese Besetzung in der an personellen Wechseln so reichen Bandgeschichte von KROKUS ein Zwischenspiel. Beim folgenden Album 1994 war bereits wieder ein anderes Team am Start. Sireena veröffentlicht dieses von Marlon Klein (YES, Atomic Rooster, Mott The Hoople) gemasterte Klassealbum erstmals auf 180 Gramm schwerem Vinyl. Um einen besseren Sound zu erzielen wurden die Songs auf 4 LP-Seiten verteilt. Die Erstauflage erscheint – Sireena-typisch – auf farbigem Vinyl im Gatefold Cover. Als Bonus gibt’s am Ende der vierten Seite das 1994 im Line-Up Storace, von Arb, Kohler, Maurer und Steady entstandene Bachman-Turner-Overdrive-Cover "You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet".
